YTEX Quadro Twist Tennis String Video Review By 5k Tennis

The Quadro Twist is our "Baby" and flagship string from YTEX.

If you are looking for a very' SOFT co-poly and a SPIN Monster...then this string is for you! This is the absolute best' string on the market you can get besides natural gut! RSI (Racquet Stringers Industry) rated the Quadro #1 in spin and #2 overall out of 157 strings they playtested.

Quadro Twist has outstanding tension hold and is also highly recommended for the main or cross in a hybrid combination. If you've never played with a poly string then the Quadro is a great introduction for you to the poly world.

Note: The black color on this string does play a SOFTER' than the white color so be sure to get the right color according to what you are looking for in a string. The Quadro is a little livelier so this one you can string a bit tighter than normal.

Color: Black.
Length: 660ft/200m
Gauge: 16L (1.26mm)
Construction: Carbon + Co-Polyester.
Advantage: Power combined with great spin and feel.

Agree: More Topspin and Better for Elbow

I've had the string in place for two weeks. I saw more topspin immediately and a frequent hitting partner said the same thing. I could feel the string's softness as well. After about a week I hit without my tennis elbow brace and recognized that there was almost no pain in the elbow. More topspin and less arm pain are promotional points of the string and per my practical experience I agree. Another plus for me is that by stringing with a little less tension, I got a little more power and didn't feel any loss of control.

Quadro black twist

My daughters play tennis and both love the quadro black string. The eldest was having issues with her wrist and elbow, since we changed it to the quadro twist, her wrist and elbow are not bothering her anymore when she plays.

I usually use Babolat RPM/VS. I played a couple of sets this week and really did not feel much different. Your string is a little bit easier to string. I can tell it is softer, but I don’t know if it “performed “ any better

They are the best strings I’ve ever played with.

The feel of the ball is much livelier, and I’m able to generate more spin on the ball.

Great Product!

I like the comfort and especially the touch and control with volleys.

Enjoy the string, I felt my serve had a little more move ment on my kick serve.

Love the additional spin that added to my ground strokes, and serves.

Comfortable and spin friendly

I tested the Quadro Twist (black 1.26) and Hexagon X (red 1.25) in two Wilson Blade Pro V8 18x20 racquets strung at 47lbs. Both sets were on the racquets for about 10 hours of play time before conducting the test. The criteria was:
1. Comfort: Simply how it feels when the ball contacts the string bed (very subjective)
2. Control: Based on hitting smaller targets (20 balls in drill)
3. Spin-friendly: Based on the height of the ball bounce (20 balls in drill)
4. Power: Trying to hit lower, penetrating shots (20 balls in drill)

All testing was with a ball machine to eliminate variability from a hitting partner.

1. Comfort: The Quadro Twist was more comfortable.
2. Control: Quadro Twist = 18 and Hexagon X = 15
3. Spin-friendly: Quadro Twist = 17 and Hexagon X = 15
4. Power: Quadro Twist = 8 and Hexagon X = 11

The least accurate was related to Power as I was personally struggling with this aspect of my game...Not the fault of the strings.

Based on this, and the fact that both strings were playing well at the 10 hour mark, I'll be ditching the Head Velocity MLT and using the Quadro Twist. But, I also enjoyed the Hexagon X!

Found my staple string

Tried ytex on a whim when I heard about square x sharp. Thought it would be a novelty and I'd be back to searching around to find something that would fit my needs and protect my elbow. Immediately noticed a difference. Play tested several others but their flagship ended up checking all the boxes for me. I string an ezone 100 with a full bed of quadro twist black at 48lbs. Spin generation and power with full cuts from the baseline have helped my rally depth tremendously. First serves still pop, but my confidence with kick and slider has gone through the roof. Anyone looking to get into the brand should start here and see what it does for them!
