The Square-X is easily in our Top 3 best selling co-polys for its softness and incredible feel. Most players we know who played with rpm have switched to the Square-X not only because of the price but it’s playability and durability. If you want a very soft co-poly which is easy on the arm; incredible feel and durable but less than half the cost of rpm...then switch to this gem!
This is a square shapes string with Two Flat surfaces, mains/crosses, in contact with each other give extra durability, no notching and the string returns very quickly from any movement after hitting the ball.
It measures 1.20mm across the flat sides and therefore plays like a much thinner string increasing power and control. We have only one word to describe this string: Unique!
Note: The BLACK COLOR on this string does play SOFTER than the white so be sure to get the right color according to what you are looking for in a string. The white color has a crispier feel and a bit stiffer than the black color.

These were put in after we received our new racket. The kiddo plays varsity tennis for the local high school and some UTR matches. The longevity of this product is fantastic. Just recently purchased more to restring his Wilson Blade 100 V8
I used this string for the first time.
My racket is Angell's 97 320g. The tension was set at 45-43. The stability and milding sentiment were good.
Excellent playability with great comfort and power...Got to string it at lower tension (below 45)... Couldn't be happier!!! even strung up a hybrid setup with Sq-X main and feels awesome...
This string performed very well for me. I was told white was stiffer than the black so I strung it at 46lbs (instead of 48) and strung my crosses (Grapplesnake Irukandji) at 50lbs. I wanted white to match Irukandji and this combo is awesome. Crisp but comfortable and some free power with nice control. Its as if the harder you swing-out the softer it gets.....if that makes sense. Spin was nice also.....who says you need those sharp edged square strings like UC or V-Square, Square-x produced ample spin. Will buy more!

I strung my Ezone 100 with SQUARE-X (black) 48 lbs main and Wilson sensation 52 lbs cross. I’ve also tried the white SQUARE-X on Yonex Vcore 100 at 48 lbs. I loved both black and white SQUARE-X how it feels, very soft and easy on your elbow. Highly recommended this string, you can’t go wrong with SQUARE-X.
Recently decided to try out ytex strings again after a disappointing test of square x in white. Square x in black filled all the voids I felt I was missing with the white version! The string feels lively, slightly muted, but not stiff like many other polys on the market. 10/10 would recommend for anyone looking for an inexpensive, and better performing alternative to a poly like Solinco hyper G, or Babolat rpm blast.
Tested in a Wilson pro staff 97 @52lbs
Ytex strings are the best strings on the market. Idea combination of comfort with the crisp feel of polys. Don’t know what the secret formula is but whatever you guys are doing, please do not stop making these strings. Bye bye “tennis elbow“ pain.

Great string for any level player, it’s a very lively string, but you don’t sacrifice much control for the power as its easy to generate due to the square profile of the string! I look forward to trying the black square X! Also, great packing and fast delivery, very good customer service!

I bought the square string to help grip the ball better and get more top spin. The string looks and acts like any other regular round string. It does not grip the ball any better. While there is nothing wrong with the string, don’t expect a square edge and to better grip the ball.
After trying several strings, square x was my son’s favorite. They hold tension well and give him the spin he is looking for. Ivor and the whole YTex community is very supportive and helpful. I enjoy doing business with them.
I use Square X as my cross strings for several different pairings. I will occasionally use them for the entire racquet. They have a lot of feel and add some spin for sure. They are soft sting that works well in any racquet.

Playing at a pretty good level of tennis the strings do everything I look for. Good pop, control and spin on all shots. Especially love what it does on my kick serve!
and Square X in crosses in both Babolat aeropro as well as Babolat Pure strike racquets!
These feel softer to my arm than Square X Sharp. The spin potential is slightly lower than the sharp version but it has more pop than sharp. Really enjoying this string. Still plenty of spin to keep the ball in but softer and more powerful than what I have been playing.

What's not to love!
Had a student order a new racquet from TW and request Square X. He actually wanted Square X Sharp but did know how to specify. Upon receiving it he tried it and said I like these strings just as much! He plays a CIF match this week and betting he does well with his new setup! HEAD GRAPHENE 360 Plus w/Square X White.
I do like this string. I strung a Dunlop Rev 95 at 54 lbs. I like the feel so far- and the bite.
I love these strings! they hold tension for along time and have great spin!!!
